With a view to reducing traffic congestion and pollution on the Kochi roads, roads, and providing ease of access to business areas on the mainland for urban households situated along the Kochi lakeshore, it was decided to make use of the inland water ways to launch a Public Transport System- The Water metro. The students were taken there to give functional opportunity to experience and understand the newly developed system.
