The Department of Civil Engineering at SNGCE organized an immersive and hands-on workshop titled “A VR Integrated Workshop on Building Design Softwares” as part of the technical event in Fugeniz'25 aiming to introduce students to emerging technologies in the construction and design domain. This workshop aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and modern design practices by integrating Virtual Reality (VR) into the learning of building design software. Participants were introduced to different industry-standard tools and their integration with VR platforms, enabling them to visualize and interact with their designs in a simulated 3D environment. The sessions covered topics such as Basics of Building Information Modelling (BIM), Transitioning 2D plans into 3D VR models, Real-time visualization techniques, Software-to-VR interface workflows, Applications of VR in architecture, planning, and structural analysis etc. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Inthisam Ul Haque V U, Head of Faculty, Techmaghi and received highly positive feedback from participants for its innovative content and engaging delivery. The VR Integrated Workshop marked a significant step in merging civil engineering education with future-ready technologies, equipping students with practical skills that align with current industry demands.
